I'll Tell You No Lies
Elmer Saw Self-Painting Frownie Face as a Child
As Elmer viewed the horrific scene in the hotel room; the terrible goat-like beast that stomped and howled, Douglas kneeling next to a man in a pool of blood with his hand firmly shoved inside the man’s mouth, a ripped out human tongue being devoured by the mythos kitty; he notices a frowny face drawing itself in blood on the wall. At a previous crime scene he had scene a dwarf-like creature painting faces, who smiled and waved at him and then disappeared. And now a face was somehow painting itself …
Suddenly, a long-forgotten memory resurfaced. When he was little (5 or 6) he got in trouble for drawing on his bedroom walls. He told his parents it was not him, getting very upset and insisting that it was not him, but they punished him anyway. The next night, he was awakened by scuffling noise and rolled over to see a frowning face drawing itself on his bedroom wall in mud. He shot straight up, screaming, and threw a shoe at the wall. It seemed to hit something, and then he heard something shuffling off. He cleaned up the wall and went back to bed, thankful that his parents had not heard the noise, and never had a similar issue again … until now!
